Larry Ahlbaum

Funeral service for Larry Allan Ahlbaum, 58, Anoka, took place Sept. 13 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. David Weigel.

Ahlbaum died Sept. 8 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1947 in Stillwater to Lawrence Wilbur and Doreen Ruby (Wright) Ahlbaum. He was a master electrician.

He is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Doreen Ahlbaum; sister, Donna Shorten; and many other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Stella Bydlon

Funeral service for Stella M. Bydlon, 87, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 9 at Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson officiated.

Bydlon died Sept. 5. She was born Sept. 11, 1918 in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her husband, Alphonse; son, Richard (Nancy); grandchildren, Laura (Charles) Pope and Sarah; three great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Dancik; brother, Edward Richert; and many other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Philip Crowe

Memorial service for Philip Joseph Crowe, 85, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 6 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.

Crowe died Sept. 1. He was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Otway, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Verona; daughters, Brenda (Paul) Evans of Andover and Marcia Jorgenson of Anoka; grandchildren, Jennifer (Alan) Cornett, Michael Evans, Carolyn Evans, Gretchen Jorgenson and Andrew Jorgenson; sister, Kathryn Walsh of Annapolis, Md.; and brother, George Crowe of Hillsboro, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sinon and Anna Crowe; brother, Austin; and son-in-law, Richard Jorgenson.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Fern DeLong

Funeral service for Fern Sigrid DeLong, 90, Andover, formerly of Anoka, took place Sept. 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.

DeLong died Sept. 5 at Farmstead Assisted Living, Andover. She was born Feb. 9, 1916 in St. Paul to Franz Gunnar and Sigrid Elizabeth (Karlsson) Peterson. She was a longtime member of Mercy Hospital, PEO and OES.

She is survived by her husband, Scott H. DeLong Jr.; daughter, Barbara Scottston (Rande Gustafson); grandchildren, Jill and Jeff; stepchildren, Todd, Scott and Jacqueline; sister-in-law, Helen Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence and Wallace; and infant son.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Bertha Droppo

Funeral service for Bertha Droppo, 90, formerly of Crown, took place Sept. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church, Crown. Rev. Gary Rehborg officiated.

Droppo died Sept. 8 at the Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Nov. 9, 1915 in Grand Forks, N.D., to Edward and Bertha (Fosse) Berg.

She is survived by her son Earl Droppo of Mesa, Ariz., and his children Matt (Linda) Droppo, Kathy (Bryan) Strickland, Emily (Curt) Dalbec; daughter Betty Ekeberg of Plymouth and her children Steve (Kim) Ekeberg, Andrea (James) Pospyhalla, Barbara and husband Joe Poole of Longville and their children, Bob (Pam) Poole, Debby Souells, Steve (Susan) Poole, Sandy (Kinnon) Marshall, 11 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Droppo; brother, Edward Berg; and daughter-in-law Sally Droppo.

Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.Arrangements were by the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.

John Fiedler

Funeral service for John F. Fiedler, 77, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 9 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. John Bucca officiated.

Fielder died Sept. 6. He was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Minneapolis. He was a 60-year member of Local No. 596.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; eight children; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; and many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Billy; and sister, Cassie.

Interment was at Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Thomas Hoey

Funeral service for Thomas E. Hoey, 59, Blaine, took place Sept. 14 at Church of St. Henry, LeSueur.

Hoey died Sept. 9. He was born May 25, 1947.

He is survived by his son, Mike (Sarah); grandchildren, Nick, Austin, Lauryn, Ryan; parents., Ralph and Kathryn; sisters and brothers, Jan LeMieux, Rick (Chrit), Leanne (Bill) Tyrrell, Kathy (Dave) Jungquist; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis.

Interment was at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Dale Horner

Funeral service for Dale Talbert Horner, 57, Andover, took place Sept. 14 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Horner died Sept. 10 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 24, 1949 in Minneapolis to Morgan Lorenzo and Helen Louise (Compton) Horner. He was a self-employed truck driver.

He is survived by his parents, Helen and Morgan Horner; sister, Linda Schultz; nephews, Donnie and Michael Schultz; and other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Nell Keifer

Funeral service for Nell Louise Keifer (Heilman), 86, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 23 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Peg) Heilman, Ricky Heilman, Marty (Cindy) Heilman, Rob (Mary) Heilman, Pam (Fred) Cary), Sandy (Chris) Weston; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother, Junior Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Heilman and Leonard Keifer.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Jon Krogstad

Funeral service for John Thorne Krogstad "Kroggie," 62, Mounds View, took place Sept. 6 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Del Schnaidt officiated.

Krogstad died Aug. 30 in Minneapolis. He was born Oct. 7, 1943 in Minneapolis to Emil and Pearl Krogstad and was a locksmith.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny; children, Debbie (John Munsterman) and Michael; grandchildren, Amber and Markus Bury, Mitchell and Amber Munsterman; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and siblings.

Pallbearers were Michael Krogstad, Markus Bury, John and Mitchell Munsterman, Mick Lindemann and Pasha Khan.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Lawrence Linde

Funeral service for Lawrence Richard Linde, 84, Anoka, took place Sept. 11 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.

Linde died Sept. 6 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1921 in St. Paul to Gust and Jenny Margaret (Johnson) Linde. He was a Marine veteran in World War II, receiving the Purple Heart, and was a retired agent for the Association of American Railroads.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Marlys Rainbow and husband Donald, Orin and wife Roxy, Wayne and wife Jane; 10 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George.

Pallbearers were Will Rainbow, Josh Kesler and Brooks, Luke, Chase and Peter Linde.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Hailey Long

Funeral service for Hailey Cheryl-Ann Long, 4, Zimmerman, took place Sept. 6 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Long died Sept. 1. She was born May 2, 2002.

She is survived by her mother, Rashell Belden; father, John Long (Amy Kostreba); grandparents, Cheryl and Jerry Fleck, Judith Anderson, Jack Long and Tom Ingebredtsen; and family.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandpa, Warren Belden; great-aunt, Jan Belden; and great-uncle, Wayne Belden.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

James McChesney

Memorial service for James Harold McChesney, 80, Ramsey, took place Sept. 12 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.

McChesney died Sept. 7 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1926 in Minneapolis to Russell Raymond and Gertrude Erna (Seeger) McChesney. He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his children, Debbie (Chuck) Lawrence of Arizona, Mark McChesney of Elk River, Sandy (Craig) Sundermeyer of Stanchfield, Kevin (Tuyet) McChesney of Big Lake, Keith (Dawn) McChesney of Crystal; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; twin brother, John (Carole) McChesney of Merrifield; brother, William (Diane) McChesney of Robbinsdale; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents, Russell and Gertrude McChesney; and brother, Robert McChesney.

Interment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Ernest Petersen

Funeral service for Ernest F. Petersen, 88, Andover, took place Sept. 9 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson officiated.

Petersen died Sept. 5. He was born June 20, 1918 in Crystal to Oscar and Hilda (Nelson) Petersen. He was the owner of Anoka Independent Grain and Feed.

He is survived by his sons, Frederick (Jan) Petersen and David (Karen) Petersen, all of Anoka; daughter, Barbara (Donald) Millslagle of Iowa; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian.

Pallbearers were Robert, Kevin and Keith Petersen, Buddy Peterson, Chip Millslagle and Mert Hansen.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Genevieve Ptasznick

Private family service took place for Genevieve Ptasznick, 93, Cambridge.

Ptasznick died Sept. 5. She was born Sept. 13, 1912.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Chester Morawiecki and Barbara and Frank Florczak; grandchildren, Glenn Florczak, Donald Florczak, Sara Florczak Reyes, Peter Florczak, Shawn Dygert, Robin Parr, Pam Dygert, Stephanie Morawiecki, Teresa Morawiecki; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Cynthia Richardson

Funeral service for Cynthia Rae Richardson "Cindy," 52, Blaine, took place Sept. 8 at Williams-Hanson-Kaun, Princeton.

Richardson died unexpectedly Sept. 5. She was born June 30, 1954 in Warren, the daughter of Richard and Janette (Johnson) Jones. She grew up and was educated at Circle Pines. She worked as a bookkeeper at a variety of businesses over the years. More recently, she had worked in home health care as a PCA.

She is survived by her sons, Chris (Christina) Butala of Otsego, Dan (Rhonda) Butala of White, Ga., and Jeremy Jones Richardson of Blaine; grandchildren, Danielle, Raeann, Cody, Joey, Ricky and Sierra; mother, Janette Jones of Coon Rapids; sisters and brother, Julie (John) Zender of Coon Rapids, Kathy (Brad) Moser of Pequot Lakes, Pam (Tom) Slater of North Pole, Alaska, Jeff (Lisa) Jones of Ham Lake and Jamie (John) Jones of Coon Rapids; cousin and best friend, Carolyn Leiran of St. Anthony; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jones.

Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements were by Williams-Hanson-Kaun, Princeton.

Marlene Rush

Graveside service for Marlene Rush, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 7 at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.

Rush died Sept. 4. She was born Oct. 6, 1933 to Edwin and Grace Ann Wicklund.

She is survived by her sons, Gary and Terry; grandchildren, Troy, Shawn and Stacey; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Thomas Samuel

Funeral service for Thomas R. Samuel, 59, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 14 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Zehren officiated.

Samuel was born Nov. 30, 1946 in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; brother, Ron; four stepchildren; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Monica Stafki

Funeral service for Monica J. Stafki, 46, St. Francis, took place Sept. 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

Stafki died Sept. 1. She was born July 18, 1960.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia; brothers, Michael, John (Annette) and Matthew; sisters, Pamela Brodell (Steve), Amy Hnllicka (Christopher); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; and sister, Annette.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Sean Weeden

Funeral service for Sean Robert Weeden, 29, Blaine, took place Sept. 11 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Weeden died accidentally Sept. 7.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy; sons, Tyler and Justin; daughter, Ashley; parents, Debra (Paul), Robert (Jennifer), Steve (Barb); grandparents, Russell, Shirley and George; brothers and sisters, Allcia (Andy), Jenny, Chris (Jenny), Johanna (Chris), Patrick (Amanda), Angela (Steve), Stephanie (Jim), Brandon, Amy (Josh); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl, Alice and Pearl.
