Christopher Peter Lindberg was born July 5, 1984 in Los Gatos, California to Peter and Leslie Lindberg. He grew up in Santa Cruz County in California. On July 21, 2009, Christopher succumbed to a long battle with diabetes and related complications at the age of 25 years, 16 days.
While Chris grew up in California, he had a special bond with his cousins, aunt, uncles and grandparents in Minnesota. He often visited Carl and Phyllis Lindberg of North Branch and thoroughly enjoyed time with his father’s siblings and their children.
Chris was an extraordinarily talented young man who excelled in a wide range of interests. During his life he embraced such activities as competitive figure skating, roller hockey, Boy Scouts, rock climbing and mountaineering. He was a formally trained chef who specialized in pastries.
His diverse interests and training included metal fabrication, auto mechanics and his true love, flying. He qualified for a Private pilot license in 2003 at age 19 and nearly achieved an instrument rating. When he talked, people were fascinated at his extensive knowledge of literally any topic.
He was a kind and generous soul who always wanted to teach and assist others.
Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl R Lindberg of North Branch and maternal grandmother, Melva Miller of Santa Cruz, CA. He is survived by his parents, Peter and Leslie Lindberg of Scotts Valley, CA, grandmother Phyllis Lindberg of North Branch, uncles Paul (Wendy) and Perry (Barbara) Lindberg of North Branch, Clark (Wendy) Lindberg of Fort Mill, SC, aunt Carla (Neil) Norelius of Lindstrom and great aunt Adelaide Stebbins of Chico, CA. He is also survived by beloved cousins Scott Peterson of Portland, OR, Hanna, Carina, Andrea and Greta Lindberg of North Branch, Chad (Jenny) Lindberg of North Branch, Alison (Joshua) Haupt of Tampa, FL, Nick Lindberg of Minneapolis, Jayme (Peter) Fanucci of Ramsey, MN, Heather (Preston) Wells of Fort Mill, SC, and Casey Lindberg of Fort Mill, SC.
