Farmer’s Market
Ongoing: Watch for the Farmer’s Market at the City Center Market in Cambridge and Riverside Market in Isanti. The market will feature bedding plants, shrubs, hanging baskets, seasonal plants and vegetables and crafts. More info: call 763-444-4840.
Domestic Violence Support Group

Music Jam/Hand craft nights
All ages welcome to a simple gathering of people bringing hand crafts to do, instruments to play and jam with, poetry or short stories to write/read, and so on. Celebrate May Day
Thursday, May 1: Adoptive and foster families are invited to celebrate May Day by creating and delivering May Baskets to residents at the Grandview Christian Home. Parents and children will create small baskets of flowers and candy to deliver to residents on this Spring holiday. Hot dogs, chips and cookies will be served. The Cambridge area Adoption and Foster Care group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Grandview. All adoptive and foster families are welcome. Please RSVP to debfjeld@yahoo.com.
Help clean up the Sunrise River
Saturday, May 3: The “Friends of the Sunrise River” citizens’ group will sponsor the annual Sunrise River Spring Clean-Up. The group will meet at Sunrise Park at 9 a.m. and divide into groups to work on different sections of the river. Waste Management will provide the roll-offs for all the debris collected, and also lunch (at Sunrise Park) when finished. The clean-up and lunch are open to anyone who wishes to participate. This is a great opportunity to canoe part of the river and meet fellow river enthusiasts. Pancake breakfast fundraiser
Sunday, May 4: The Cambridge Christ the King Knights of Columbus will be serving a pancake breakfast at the Catholic Parish Hall from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the proceeds benefitting the “Kids Against Hunger” food drive. Cost of the breakfast is $5/adult, $3/ages 6-12. Under 5 are free.
Nutrition assistance program
Tuesday, May 6: The Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors and Mothers and Children distribution is between 1-2 p.m. in Cambridge. Volunteers are needed to help, especially from 1-1:30. You must be able to carry a box of approximately 40 pounds. Call Kathy at 763-689-1613 if you can help.
