Three young men-eighth graders from the Little Falls Community Middle School-along with their teacher from the service learning class, mustered up enough courage to put a request before the city council.
Speaking at both the council’s planning meeting and regular meeting, the three spoke of the need for a water park. As they explained, such a park would get the kids away from video games and give them more exercise and fun in the outdoors.
The boys-Tyler White, Adam Bleeker and Matt Dezurik-and their teacher Colleen Johnson, were thanked for their input and told that the council would look again at such a park during its Oct. 30 goal-setting meeting.
City Administrator Rich Carlson further explained that it was too late to get a question about funding a park on the November general election ballot, but added that a mail-in ballot on the subject could possibly be sent out to residents.
