To the Editor:
Senator Paul Koering is a true leader on health care issues. All one has to do is look at who’s endorsed him. He’s received letters of endorsement from the Minnesota Nurses Association, the Minnesota Psychiatric Society, the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The Minnesota Nurses Association called him “an advocate and champion for nurses and our patients.” They praised him for “protecting our patient’s access to mental health services and our nurse’s jobs as changes are taking place at the Brainerd Regional Treatment Center.”
In the DFL controlled senate, Senator Koering serves on the Health and Human Services Budget Division Committee chaired by DFL Senator Linda Berglin. In a Brainerd Dispatch letter (4/1/05) she calls him a “true advocate for his constituents” and a “champion for health care” and says he “has made it his mission to work with members of both parties.” This is high praise coming from a member of the opposite party.
Senator Koering’s awareness of his constituents’ needs and his ability to work with both parties are what makes him so effective in St. Paul. Vote Nov. 7 to keep him working for us.-Betty Pasela, Little Falls.
