Kathy Dorn named May Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month

The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has named its May Employee of the Month. Chosen for the honor was Kathy Dorn, a kindergarten teacher at Lindbergh Elementary School. Kathy has taught for 13 years—seven at Lindbergh Elementary.

New faces, new dogs, take over Morrison County’s K9 unit

Morrison County has had K9s working with deputies for the past 25 years. Two of the original K9 handlers, Deputies Chip LeBlanc and Larry Converse trained together in Staples. At that time LeBlanc was a Morrison County Deputy and Converse was Motley Police Chief. Converse later joined the Morrison County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy.

We would like to thank Falls GM for hosting the car seat clinic on Saturday, April 9. The event was very successful. The task force inspected 28 child passenger seats and needed to replace 13. We would also like to thank the all volunteers. Thank you! This clinic was funded by the Safe Kid Buckle Up Grant/General Motors and Crow Wing Power.

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile was a success, receiving 284 units—six units below our goal. Thanks to: donors who gave to the cause, businesses who allowed for posters, Little Falls Radio and the Morrison County Record—who informed the public, Community Federal and Pine Country Bank for reminding people through marquees, Parker’s Food Pride and Coborn’s for snacks, and the many volunteers who helped.
