New Benton County Dairy Princesses crowned

The 2003 Benton County Dairy Princesses are Corrine Bemboom, daughter of Ken and Ann Bemboom, of Sauk Rapids; Laurie Scapinski, daughter of Gary and Shirley Scapinski, Sauk Rapids; and Terri Lentner, daughter of Fred and Teresa Lentner, Foley.

The 2003 Benton County Dairy Ambassadors are Mary Brauen, daughter of William and Joan Brauen, Foley; Kari Molitor, daughter of Alvin (Barney) and Linda Molitor, Sauk Rapids; Tina Lentner, daughter of Fred and Teresa Lentner, Foley; and Amanda Lentner, daughter of Bill and Cheryl Lentner, Foley.

Outgoing princesses gave their farewell speeches. A letter was read from Stephanie Popp, who is out of the county, by her sister.

The princesses will compete in Willmar on May 16 through 18. Princesses from all the counties will compete to become one of 12 finalists to advance to the Princess Kay contest at the state fair.

Princess Kay of the Milky Way will celebrate 50 years this year.

Door prizes were handed out. County princesses and ambassadors will be at local banks, in local parades and at the Benton County Fair malt wagon.
