Flyers rally in fourth quarter to stay unbeaten; Royals win

Little Falls boys’ basketball team needed a fourth quarter rally to stop upset-minded Willmar, 60-57, on January 26 in Little Falls.

The Flyers outscored the Cardinals 20 to seven in the final half of the fourth quarter and came back from a 10-point deficit to win the Central Lakes Conference clash.

Junior Mark Kasella scored 10 of his 21 points during the final four minutes and also swiped the ball twice to spark the Flyer rally. Senior Nate Miller led the Flyers with 24 points.

A cold third quarter put the third ranked Class AAA Flyers in a position they haven’t experienced often this season. The Flyers led 30-27 at halftime, but were outscored 19 to seven in the third quarter and trailed by nine points as they enterred the final eight minutes of play.

Following the game, Little Falls was 11-0 on the season and 6-0 in the CLC.
