January’s Employee of the Month announced by Chamber

The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce recently selected its January Employee of the Month.

Janet Simonson is being honored this month for her seven years of dedicated service to St. Gabriel’s Hospital where she is employed as a switchboard operator.

“Janet is such a dedicated employee, she’s always willing to go the extra mile. She is also very kind and compassionate, and treats everyone with respect and dignity,” said Deb Noble, Controller at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.

Janet and her husband of 17 years, Del Simonson, are Little Falls’ residents and have three daughters—Lisa, Brianne and Trisha.

In her spare time, Janet enjoys being with her family, supporting her daughters in their sporting and extra-curricular activities, decorating for special occasions, shopping and traveling.

“I am honored and surprised to be nominated for this award. Even though the work is often fast-paced and hectic, I really like what I do and I truly enjoy working at St. Gabriel’s Hospital. It gives me an opportunity to help people. In emergency situations, patients and their families often need some emotional support. Whether it’s a few kind words to help calm them down, or a hug, or just listening to what they have to say, can be such a comfort to people. I am fortunate to work with such a professional staff that works together. This is what makes the organization such a success. It’s also nice when everyone knows each other and is willing to help out when needed,” said Janet.

For being chosen Employee of the Month, Janet will receive gift certificates from Broadway Stylist and the Black and White Hamburger Shop, flowers from the Little Falls Greenhouse and a portrait from Silker Studio.
