Students honored at Music Center

Staff at the St. Francis Music Center in Little Falls has announced the two most recent Students of the Month.

Katie Meschke was named the September Student of the Month. Katie has been studying piano for four years at the Center. In nominating Katie for the award, her teacher, Sister Linda Hess, stated, “Katie is very friendly and always seems to have a smile. She is always prepared for her lesson, I can tell she takes her practice seriously. Katie works hard and seems to always enjoy a challenge. Her fingering and technique is wonderful.”

Katie is in the sixth grade at Little Falls Community Middle School and is the daughter of Kent and Lynn Meschke of Little Falls. She enjoys taking piano lessons because she likes her teacher, Sister Linda, so much. Katie says that Sister Linda always makes her feel good about herself and has taught her so much about playing piano.

Katie also enjoys playing saxophone, reading, making crafts, snow skiing, water skiing, playing with her dog, rollerblading and tubing at the lake. Her favorite subjects in school are math and Family and Consumer Science. She plays in the Middle School Band and Jazz Band and also participates in student council and soccer.

The October Student of the Month is Melissa Fruechte. Melissa has studied piano at the Music Center for five years. Her teacher, Sister Linda Hess, said of Melissa, “Melissa is a joy to work with. She always comes to her lesson prepared, having practiced and even looked over her next assignment. Melissa tries hard and has achieved so much. Her technique and skills continue to improve steadily.”

Melissa is in the sixth grade at Little Falls Community Middle School and is the daughter of Todd and Shari Fruechte of Little Falls. She likes math, science and home economics at school and looks forward to participating in track and field in the spring. She also enjoys reading, biking, cooking and sewing.

Melissa enjoys taking piano lessons. She likes her teacher, Sister Linda, and also likes the fact that she gets to play a variety of songs.
